St. Andrew's Senior High Program

FOC is the Senior High portion of the Youth Group.  Its members consist of 9^th through 12^th graders from a variety of schools. 

 

The mission of FOC (as written by its youth members) is:

We are a fun-loving, caring, ecstatic, group of Christian youth messengers. We hope to create a secure and open community providing service to one another and the outside community, having fun and learning about our Lord and Savior. We plan to achieve this through activities, retreats, mission trips and projects, weekly meetings and fundraisers, being open minded committing to fellowship and being guided by the Holy Spirit!

 

The group meets every Wednesday from 7:30-9pm.  These meetings consist of social activities, discussion, Bible Study, community service and field trips.  Some of the social activities include game nights, skits/improv, and ice breakers.  Discussion topics range from friendships to family, being a young Christian, and ways of prayer.  We've also tackled issues like other religions, afterlife, who receives salvation, war, poverty and inequality, and homosexuality.  FOC is capable of having serious discussion and is interested in going more in-depth. Field trips and community service have included trips to the Food Bank sorting food, playing games with youth at the Interfaith Hospitality Network, trip to the Pleasant hill Police Department, bowling, ski trips, Q-Zar, and Boomers.  For the past 4 years we have also able to have a Youth Mission Trip to Tijuana.
