A Closer Look...

In addition to general information, here are some of our activities for all ages and interests!

NURSERY

A loving nursery staff welcomes infants and toddlers all Sunday morning (A childcare sign-up is necessary for other church activities).

YOUTH AND CHILDREN

In addition to our full Sunday morning program, we provide three weekly programs for our children and youth:

KID'S KINGDOM

Wednesday afternoon during the school year from 4:30 to 7:00 provides fun activities, dinner, Bible study, choir and worship skills for children Kindergarten through fifth grade.

THE SALT and LIGHT COMPANY

Meets Tuesday evenings 6 pm to 7:30 pm with special activities for middle school students (6, 7, and 8 grade).

FOC (Fellowship of the Carpenter)

High School (9-12 grades) age members meets Tuesday evenings 7:30 to 9 pm for fun activities and discussions.


PASTORAL CARE

In times of crisis, loneliness, grief, difficulty with relationships, unemployment, the stress of a new baby, etc., please call Shel White at 685-4720. He will be delighted to respond.

St. Andrew's also provides long-term supportive care through the STEPHEN MINISTRY program. Here one-to-one caring, confidential ministry is provided by trained lay ministers.

DEACONS provide care and support throughout the church.


GET A (SOCIAL) LIFE AT ST. ANDREWS!

There is always something fun and interesting happening. The only question is how do you fit it all in?

ALLCOMERS meets monthly for a variety of social activities - from potluck suppers to "Mystery Trips." All ages, families, singles and couples are invited.

SENIOR LUNCH BUNCH meets for lunch and a program. Lunch is provided.

FOURTH FRIDAY FLICK FLACK is potluck dinner at someone's home with lively discussion of a video or current movie.

ANNUAL FAMILY RETREAT provides everything from camping and recreational vehicle to cabins. All age fun, worship, study and great fellowship.

PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN (Naomi Circle) meet monthly. The study program is used by Presbyterian Women's groups. All women of the church are welcome.

 

SPIRITUAL LIFE

Modern people hunger for the spiritual, to touch the infinite. Join the faith journey at St. Andrew's!


CHRIST CARE GROUPS AND SMALL COVENANT BIBLE STUDY GROUPS gather to pray (no one is forced to pray out loud), study Scripture, share thoughts, ideas and concerns.

SPIRITUAL GROWTH WEEKENDS provide opportunities for adults to get away for study, prayer, worship, and sharing in a beautiful setting.

 

SERVICE

Be the hands of Christ!

MISSION PROJECTS: Mission work projects allow our members to get their hands dirty cooperating with other churches locally, across the state, and in other nations. Examples include trips abroad to Mexico, to other points in California, and within our local community.

THE WEDNESDAY MORNING CREW provides much necessary maintenance of the church buildings and grounds. Folks meet from 9 am to Noon with the all important doughnut and coffee break at 10:30 am.

FOOD PANTRY AND CLOTHING ROOM at Hillcrest Church. St. Andrew's actively supports this needed ministry with food, clothing and money.

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY is supported by St. Andrew's through our hands-on work building homes and financial giving.

MEALS ON WHEELS is supported by St. Andrew's members in their home delivery of meals.

OTHER PROJECTS supported by our church: Westminster House - ministry to Cal Berkeley students; Rev. Jane Holslag missionary in Germany, Heifer Project, World Impact Shelter Inc, Hospice, Battered Womens' Alternative, Iraq relief, Contra Costa Food Bank.
